Sourcing & Engineering Services

Component Development & Sourcing

Component development and sourcing is managed by our competent team members individually assigned for our offshore and domestic clients.

Globalocal works in two ways:

  • 1. Offshore outsourcing for global customers
  • 2. Onshore outsourcing for domestic customers

Hiring us for your offshore outsourcing includes the benefits mentioned as:

  • Cost Savings - By combining offshoring and outsourcing, a company could potentially save more money if able to take advantage of lower foreign costs and less overhead
  • Territorial Knowledge - Having the ability to leverage a foreign workforce familiar with its own country and markets could be useful.
  • Global Competitiveness - As more companies expand operations overseas, offshore outsourcing could help them remain viable in an increasingly competitive global marketplace.
  • Frees up in-house Resources - By shifting some of the workload to an outside source, businesses can focus more on growth strategies.
  • Lowers Operational Costs - One of the potential advantages of outsourcing is that contracting out work could lower overhead expenses and the need for additional in-house employees.
  • Provides access to outside expertise - Outsourcing offers companies the opportunity to hire a vendor that specializes in a skill their company lacks
  • Faster Service - A specialized offsite vendor may have the talent and resources to complete a task faster and more efficiently.

Globalocal partners with various global companies for their business requirements i.e., sourcing of different quality products from India for automotive sector, hardware/brassware products and industrial & consumer products.

Onshore outsourcing for domestic customersis more like acting as the import substitute wherein the domestic companies are importing the products either due to non-availability or for cost benefits.

We at Globalocal provides the technical and manufacturing consultation to overcome the challenges faced to manufacture and to meet the cost targets. Consultation includes two main subjects:

  • a. In-house manufacturing – For in-house manufacturing, we provide the technical consultation for setting up the manufacturing unit after budgeting and project report approval, Auditing & gaps analysis, providing competent manpower.
  • b. Outsourced manufacturing – For onshore outsourcing, we have number of identified and approved manufacturers who have the capability and capacity to manufacture and supply the quality products as per requirements. Supplier recommendation from us means they have gone through our stringent approval process for quality, development, technology, cost and delivery.

Supplier Identification & Development

Globalocal undertakes a thorough manufacturing feasibility study in close association with our supplier resources to meet customer expectations of product quality and delivery timeline. Our technical experience coupled with our dependable support, enables us to assist in development of an optimum quality product to design at competitive pricing.

Most of our suppliers are ISO9001 and IATF 16949 certified. Our supplier development team constantly identifies new potential supplier with varied capabilities, infrastructure, and strengths.

Identified suppliers goes through the stringent checks & audits which includes:

  • Process/Product Audit and Qualification
  • Gap Assessment
  • Trainings
  • Process Improvements
  • Re-Audit & Assessment
  • Product Development Capability
  • PPAP audits

Engineering Services

  • CAD/CAM Services

CAD - One goal of CAD is to allow quicker iterations in the design process another is to enable smoothly transitioning to the CAM stage. Although manually created drawings historically facilitated "a designer's goal of displaying an idea," it did not result in a machine-readable result that could be modified and subsequently be used to directly build a prototype. It can also be used to "ensure that all the separate parts of a product will fit together as intended."

CAD, when linked with simulation, can also enable bypassing building a less than satisfactory test version, resulting in having "dispensed with the costly, time-consuming task of building a prototype.”

CAM - In Computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), using computerized specifications, a computer directs machines such as lathes and milling machines to perform work that otherwise would be controlled by a lathe or milling machine operator.

CAM, although it requires initial expenditures for equipment, covers this outlay with reduced labor cost and speedy transition from CAD to finished product, especially when the result is both timely and "ensuring one-time machining success rate."

  • Reverse Engineering

We at Globalocal provides the solution of Reverse Engineering by manual and automatic means which includes manual layout inspection of parts to create the 2D and by 3D scanning of part and directly creating the 3D. This 3D data provides the 2D drawing which is then used to manually verify the dimensions.

Reverse Engineering is not only meant to copy the existing parts of other suppliers or competitors but instead to perform the competitor analysis and to come up with more efficient and reliable products

  • Proto Sampling

A prototype is an early sample, model, or release of a product built to test a concept or process. A prototype is generally used to evaluate a new design to enhance precision by system analysts and users. Prototyping serves to provide specifications for a real, working system rather than a theoretical one. In some design workflow models, creating a prototype (a process sometimes called materialization) is the step between the formalization and the evaluation of an idea

Prototyping actually saves the efforts, time and expenses involved in mass production tools/moulds or dies. It is a very initial stage to give shape to your idea/conceptual design and then to validate it for fit and functions before freezing the final design.

We provide the prototyping facilities for verification and validation before initiating the mass production development activities which in turn boost the confidence for both maker and buyer.

  • Tooled Up Parts

We do have partners integrated with us for Mass Production tools, moulds, dies, jigs & fixtures for various commodities such as plastics, rubber, sheet metal, die casting etc. We make the tools, moulds, dies and then draw the samples. Verify the samples dimensionally and aesthetically and raise the reports. Identify the non-conformities and get the corrections done to get the final 100% drawing confirming parts.

All the activities are done in full transparency with our esteemed clients by providing the APQP and micro time plans for each activity involved in CAD/CAM, Reverse Engineering, Prototyping and Tool manufacturing.

Quality Assurance

We at Globalocal understand the importance of Quality and give it the topmost priority to maintain and build the long term mutually benefitted business relationship with our suppliers and customers. We specialize in minimizing and/or eliminate hidden costs of poor product quality, returns, rework, and non-compliance with regulatory requirements through our continuous improvement drive and technology upgradation efforts.

Few QA activities are:

  • Analyze problems to qualify issues both in a team and/or self-supporting environment.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions for problem.
  • Review and implement inspection methods to ensure product quality.
  • Direct quality improvement efforts using quality tools, i.e. 8D, 5 why, control charts, MSA, capability analysis, SIPOC, Fishbone, etc.
  • Work with customers and suppliers to resolve and prevent nonconformances.
  • Review engineering changes, evaluate quality impact, react to satisfy needs.
  • Perform internal quality system audits.
  • Active Participationwith product development teams, APQP+ process.
  • Understand complex technical drawings and specifications to translate these into quality control plans and operating standards.
